Owner’s Story & Tradition

Growing up as a first-generation child on American soil in an immigrant family, I lived a life shaped by resilience, simplicity, and love. Under one roof, my grandparents, parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, and cousins shared everything: second-hand clothing, meals of white rice, canned corn soup, eggs, and dried pulled pork. Despite having so little, we were taught to give abundantly, to be grateful, and to always extend a hand to those in need. These values were deeply instilled in me by my grandfather, a man whose compassion knew no borders. From Vietnam to our home, he spent his life tirelessly giving back, sending boxes of necessities to those who needed them most. His unwavering kindness became the foundation of my own desire to help others.

When I was young, my father was diagnosed with schizophrenia, a devastating illness that left him vulnerable and ultimately led him to live on the streets. My family did everything we could to care for him, but his struggles were immense, and as his youngest daughter, I often didn’t understand. I felt confusion, frustration, and even resentment until one life-altering moment. Walking home from middle school, I saw him from a distance. I waved, calling out “Dad” with excitement, only to watch him walk past me like a stranger. It was the first time I truly grasped the depth of his illness. That moment stayed with me, haunting and shaping me.

After his passing, I visited the place he had called home, a barren apartment with nothing but a mattress on the floor and cans of Ensure. It broke me. Tears poured as I realized that, for him, even having a roof over his head didn’t mean he felt at home. The streets, as harsh as they were, had become his refuge. That realization shattered my heart and opened my eyes to the harsh realities faced by so many. It was in those moments of grief that my purpose was born.

Gifted Angels became my way of channeling that pain into love, of turning loss into hope. Every blessing bag we hand out is filled not just with necessities but with the message that someone cares. We remind people, those often overlooked and forgotten that they matter, that they are loved, no matter their circumstances. Inspired by my father’s journey and my grandfather’s legacy of giving, I am committed to spreading light to those in the darkest places.

Our Values

At Gifted Angels, we believe in fostering a sense of dignity and care for every individual we serve. Through our work, we aim to build connections, inspire hope, and create lasting change in the communities we touch.

In addition to supporting people, we are proud to be teaming up with local no-kill shelters to provide much-needed supplies and food for animals in need. Together, we are extending our efforts to care for all members of our community, both human and animal.

We want to assure our supporters that 100% of all donations and monetary contributions go directly towards purchasing materials and supplies needed for our blessing bags and outreach efforts. Donations can be purchased directly from our Amazon charity wishlist, or monetary funds are also accepted for the purchase of water, food, and other essentials. Every cent helps us provide vital items to those who need them most, whether for people or animals.

Join us in making a difference! Whether it’s through volunteering, donations, or simply spreading the word, your support helps Gifted Angels touch more lives and bring light to those who need it most.
